Also in April, we present a special show with RVNG Intl. to mark the release of the Anthology of Interplanetary Folk Music Vol. 1: the first authorized re-edition of Craig Leon’s 1981 and 1982 albums Nommos and Visiting. In the late ’70s, Leon produced the early works of the Ramones, Richard Hell, and Suicide before making Nommos, a singular synth oddity for John Fahey’s Takoma Records. The album has remained a sought-after cosmic classic since and is now accompanied by its companion piece Visiting as a continuous body of work. Along with our old friends in the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), Leon will perform the New York premiere of Nommos at Le Poisson Rouge, with an opening set by Bill Kouligas. Tickets are on sale now.
