The Temple of Dendur in The Sackler Wing is an Egyptian monument built by Emperor Augustus around 15 B.C.E., reconstructed in a modern simulation of its original site. Presented to the United States as a gift from the Egyptian government, it is now an iconic Met space and a highlight of the Museum’s collections.
